What hope do the Northern Line have when the people who build and maintain the trains can't decide how to spell the company name?

It's all to do with buyouts and things.

From a UK railways point of view, Alstom is what used to be Metro Cammell.

Goes without saying that it's a complicated set of mergers and renamings ;)

Basically: Alsthom was formed in 1928, became GEC Alsthom in 1988 and had an IPO as Alstom in 1997.

Alsthom chanaged its name to Alstom about 10 years ago
